Raising children and youth with special needs while working with systems that provide care and support can be stressful and complicated. Family Support Services helps families and caregivers to navigate through the lifespan of a child with disabilities. The Department also hosts workshops and information sessions (e.g. Sexual health - Support for parents / caregivers) and assists individuals and families to complete Representation Agreements.
Family Support Services offers a variety of collaborative services to families such as information sharing, advocacy and support to assist families in making informed decisions. Coordinators sit on a number of committees in the Langley community to stay connected, collaborate in community initiatives and advocate for needed supports and programming for families.
